Last night I was coming back from knitting @ the yarn shop, and some jackhole ran a red light. Unfortunately, I was in the way.
(my camera phone doesn't have a night setting, and my hand was shaking)
I'm basically fine, although I'm really sore and a bit out of it today.
I don't know if there's hope for my car or not. I guess I'll know more in a few days. I do not relish the idea of car shopping again.
I'm glad that Isaac was home and safely tucked into his bed when it happened. Rita and I left the yarn shop at the same time, so I called her and had her come to my house so Dennis could come get me. I was so happy to see him, and I smooched Ike really hard when he woke up.
The Sunnyvale police were great, and I was home about half an hour after the accident, and they were loading my car on a flatbed tow truck (Nathan probably could tell me exactly what kind of tow truck, and identify all of the driver's tools). The other driver tried to say that he had the green light, but there were multiple witnesses so...not so much, dude.
I have to get a new car seat for Ike, since the old one is dead to me after being in the accident. I had a Roundabout in there, but right after I bought it, Britax put out the Diplomat, which is made for smaller cars and seems to have more side protection. So I want to check that one out as a possible replacement. And that is my contribution to the endless stream of car seat mindfuckery that is the internet. Seriously, if you want to see people get all het up about something, go to a mommy board and ask what the best car seat is. It's like throwing chum to sharks.
I'm sorry, little green beetle.
