He's such a fast, proficient crawler now. Gracie and Bea are not amused, since they thought they knew how much time they had to get out of his way and now he's gone and changed the rules. Tails have been pulled.
He is also very good at climbing over low obstacles such as pillows, and we've lost the use of the bottom shelf on his changing table for storage, because he wants to hoist himself up there and peek out. Time with Isaac is now mostly spent following him around the house and redirecting him from trying to get to the Promised Land, aka Dennis' not-child-friendly office. He would also accept access to the laundry room, home of such wonders as the litter box. Damn these gates! Whyyyyy?
Isaac also enjoys band practice, when he gets to wail on pans with a wooden spoon, going to his gym class where he gets to bounce on the trampoline and climb on the mats, and looking at books. He took a while to warm up to books, but now he can look though them nicely. My mom brought him a pop-up book, and made sure to tell me that she paid a quarter for it at a garage sale so if he destroyed it, it wasn't a big deal. He looks at it all the time, and it's still functional. The only book that isn't faring well is Hop on Pop. It's missing a page now, right at the critical plot point where Mr. Brown goes out of town and comes back with Mr. Black. Somehow, we go on.
I'm still trying to get a decent shot of him in the turkey hat. This is as close as I've come:
That little flannel shirt just cracks me up. I call it his daddy costume.
