Isaac's doctors suspect that some of his eating problems may be caused by acid reflux. It's really common in premature babies, and would explain why we're getting Mr. Fussyface at every feeding now, even the ones that are just a straight shot of milk down the tube. Poor little munchkin.
He's getting medicine for it, which will take a couple of days to kick in, and we're chunking out his feedings into two or more parts with breaks in between so that he's not getting as full. Once he fusses, we stop and snuggle him up on a shoulder and put a warm blanket under his belly. Hopefully that will lighten the load on his digestive system a bit. Also, more snuggling is never a bad thing.
He's six weeks old today!
